Under the direction of the Physician and Manager, is responsible for supervising and participating in the daily operations of the Stress Lab, Vascular Lab and Echocardiogram Lab In this capacity, will accomplish specific departmental objectives as determined by the department manager, including the performance of stress testing, diagnostic vascular and echocardiogram procedures; coordination of services; regulatory record maintenance; and quality of services. As a Cardiovascular Supervisor, is responsible for diagnostic testing and the coordination of the clinical policies, guidelines, and procedures in the deliverance of patient care.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Oversees departmental functions, which include:
Inventory control, including the ordering and receipt of supplies.
Reviews equipment functions and verifies quality outcomes.
Ensures safe testing practices are being followed.
Maintains all necessary records required by regulatory and accreditation agencies.
Updates department protocols as necessary.
Liaison between technologists and staff.
Schedules technologist assignments.
Assists manager in hiring, mentoring, counseling, disciplining, and evaluating technology staff.

Effectively makes recommendations regarding standards of performance, quality control, and department production.
Assists in identifying problems related to the functioning of the department, recommends solutions, and takes corrective action to resolve them.
Assists in determination and implementation of departmental operations and schedules.
Assists in the development, interpretation, and administration of department policies, procedures, protocols, rules, regulations, and instructions.
Provides information and reports to the manager as needed for departmental analysis, planning and forecasting.
Makes recommendations regarding budgeting and financial matters; projects needs for equipment, supplies, and personnel.
Maintains standards of imaging and reporting set forth by the ICAVL and ICAEL. Initiates application for re-accreditation as required and establishes standards of performance, quality control and department production.
Facilitates quarterly quality assurance meeting with technologists to review interesting cases, correlation studies, and updates on latest changes in the departments work force.
Transports, maintains, and coordinates repair of equipment.
Conducts comprehensive testing, including vascular dopplers, and ultrasounds.
Communicates testing results to team physicians and referring physicians.
Documents in patient charts testing results and communications.
Enters clinical information and preliminary testing data into database. Prepares reports for physicians.
Enforces adherence to policies, procedures, or regulations and advise on standards.
Assumes responsibility and accountability for time management, cost outcomes, professional relationships, and interpersonal interactions.
Acts as a resource to health care staff and/or implements educational programs to improve management of patient/families.
Collaborates with physician and clinical team as necessary to provide appropriate plan of care. Advocates for physician to patient and staff.
Assists patients with appropriate referrals to physicians and community resources.
Assists with planning, developing, and implementing goals, objectives, policies and procedures for the Vascular and Echo Labs.
Performs other related duties.
Four years of experience in related discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or business administration.
