We dare to do things differently and are proud of our personal approach to customer care. We currently have the need for an Employee Benefits Account Manager in our Lansing, MI location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages annual enrollment periods and the implementation of plan changes and transfers of coverage.
Coordinate communication material for clients, including benefit guides, preparing enrollment packages with benefit summaries and enrollment forms, participating in client enrollment/information meetings (as requested).
Gathers completed client enrollment applications and works with E & E department to ensure data is accurately submitted to the insurance carrier(s).
Maintains and updates Agency Management System and internal records daily.
Assists with day-to-day service issues and concerns such as billing and carrier/vendor management.
Prepares AOR letters and submits to carriers.
Respond to client inquiries within agency defined timelines, incoming mail, company requests, producers and account executives needs on a timely basis.
Market new businesses, collect data, and review policies.
Follow-up on receipt of proposals and verifies that they meet specifications.
Thoroughly documents issues and tasks so comprehensive client histories are developed and maintained.
Attend carrier products presentations, educational workshops and seminars.
Maintain knowledge of policy provisions and any changes in these provisions.
Perform special projects at management?s request

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent experience; a minimum of 5 to 10 years of benefit insurance experience.
Professional Licensing: Michigan Resident Producer license for Accident, Health, & Life and Variable Annuities. Advanced designations preferred.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Presents numerical information accurately.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; must have a high attention to detail, deadline sensitive, organized, and possess the ability to work independently.
Analytical Skills: Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data.
Software Experience and Usage: Intermediate working knowledge of spreadsheets (MS Excel) and word processing software (MS Word), Outlook and the ability to learn various application programs
