Summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time Dosimetrist to join their Radiation Oncology team at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute. Join a collaborative and dynamic group of five Certified Medical Dosimetrists, four Radiation Oncologists, and six Medical Physicists, including the Chief Medical Physicist, over 15 Radiation Therapists and many support staff.

Join a collaborative practice to generate radiation therapy treatment plans using computer software and various imaging modalities, create treatment plans using DIBH and 4DCT, delineate fusion of diagnostic studies with radiation treatment CT dataset.

The Radiation Oncology Clinic includes state of the art technology including two Varian Truebeam Linacs, one Halcyon, Accuray Cyber Knife, Tomotherapy unit, Gamma Med HDR unit, Siemens CT Simulator. World’s first ProBeam 360 Proton Therapy facility is being built and is planned to open in Spring of 2022. A full range of radiation oncology services 3D, IMRT, High Dose Rate brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT are offered. Additional software includes Aria R&V, Varian Eclipse and Accuray Precision TPS, Varian BrachyVision, MIM, Velocity and Radcalc.

Under the direction of the Medical Physicist, the Dosimetrist will perform patient specific in-vivo activities, treatment plans, dose calculations and provide consultation or assist therapists during treatment simulations, in accordance with state laws. Ideal candidates must possess an understanding of the data transfer process and verify treatment planning information post transfer to record and verify system.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of Bachelor of Science Degree

  • Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist issued by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) or Graduate of an accredited Medical Dosimetry Program with Board Certification required within two years of hire.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of current radiation therapy principles, methods, procedures and techniques.

  • Experience with Eclipse 15.6, ARIA, MIM, Velocity, TrueBeam and RadCalc preferred
