Bureau of Reclamation Facilities Operations Specialist GS-1640-9/11 in Lakewood, Colorado

Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Facilities Operations Specialist GS-1640-9/11. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment. Duty Location: Lakewood, Colorado This position in located in Lakewood, Colorado and is not eligible for remote selection. Responsibilities -Manages facilities services essential to maintaining a safe, healthy, and comfortable facility that is compliant with Bureau standards as well as develops scopes of work, specifications, and other required documents for projects that may involve space planning, designing, demolition and all related construction activities. -Coordinates with other facility specialists, agencies, project managers, or other individuals as needed to ensure that all aspects of facilities support are covered, including areas such as safety; security; ergonomics; and building systems. -Responsible for providing planning and coordinating activities, technical assistance, and customer support for the assigned spaces that are undergoing alterations, construction, relocations, and maintenance of agency owned equipment. Examples of specialized experience include: preparing office designs plans using AutoCAD for systems furniture and basic building mechanical systems; coordinating and managing systems furniture, including preparing and/or coordinating design, installation, and maintenance activities; assisting in preparing detailed technical contract specifications, drawings, and cost estimates and working with contracting officers as their COR. -OR- master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related. GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal Government. Examples of specialized experience include: Extensive experience using AutoCAD for space planning, designing, demolition and all related construction activities; extensive experience preparing and coordinating the design, installation, and maintenance activities of systems furniture; preparing detailed technical contract specifications, drawings, and cost estimates and serving as COR on multiple concurrent projects. -OR- Successful completion of a PH.D. or equivalent related doctoral degree OR three full years of progressively higher-level related graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M. if related. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered.
