Kelly Services Controller in Kingston, Washington

Kelly is seeking a Controller for our client, an organization that acts as the economic development arm of a Native American tribe, on a direct hire basis – starting ASAP! This is an excellent opportunity to work with a growing organization in the investment management industry.

The Controller will:

  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the finance department and manage finance personnel

  • Manage month-end and year-end financial reporting processes

  • Perform budget and financial projections

  • Forecast/manage cash flows and analyze cost

  • Identify financial resources to meet previously identified and newly discovered priorities

  • Provide direction after gathering, compiling, interpreting, and analyzing expenses

  • Prepare financial statements and special reports as needed

  • Oversee the chart of accounts, fixed assets, and vendor listings

  • Closely monitor the purchasing and receiving functions as well as inventory related accounting

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and accounting/audit internal controls

  • Review significant estimates, journal entries, and reconciliations of all general ledger accounts

  • Monitor compliance with any debt covenants

  • Ensure all funds are fully insured or collateralized

  • Serve as an advisor to Management and the Board

  • Develop a comprehensive internal quality management planning and cost control system


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and strong leadership skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems

  • Experience working with Native American populations a strong plus

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail

  • Effective change management skills

  • Detailed knowledge of GAAP

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High ethical standards
