Kelly Services Controller in Kingston, Washington
Kelly is seeking a Controller for our client, an organization that acts as the economic development arm of a Native American tribe, on a direct hire basis – starting ASAP! This is an excellent opportunity to work with a growing organization in the investment management industry.
The Controller will:
Direct the day-to-day operations of the finance department and manage finance personnel
Manage month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
Perform budget and financial projections
Forecast/manage cash flows and analyze cost
Identify financial resources to meet previously identified and newly discovered priorities
Provide direction after gathering, compiling, interpreting, and analyzing expenses
Prepare financial statements and special reports as needed
Oversee the chart of accounts, fixed assets, and vendor listings
Closely monitor the purchasing and receiving functions as well as inventory related accounting
Ensure compliance with GAAP and accounting/audit internal controls
Review significant estimates, journal entries, and reconciliations of all general ledger accounts
Monitor compliance with any debt covenants
Ensure all funds are fully insured or collateralized
Serve as an advisor to Management and the Board
Develop a comprehensive internal quality management planning and cost control system
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience
Demonstrated supervisory experience and strong leadership skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Experience working with Native American populations a strong plus
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail
Effective change management skills
Detailed knowledge of GAAP
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High ethical standards
