Responsible for receiving information from referral sources via email or fax server. Responsibilities include managing incoming faxes and emails by sorting and dividing out the inbound documents. Additional responsibilities include uploading Doctors Orders (MD Orders) and AOB / Consent forms into EHR system. Occasional need for data entry into patient management system, as needed. Working knowledge of HIPAA, Federal, State and Local insurance regulations.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Timely processing, sorting, and triaging of incoming faxes and emails
Converting emails and faxes into PDF files, extracting and Triaging to appropriate destinations
Occasional need for basic importing of demographic information into Practice Management System
Upload files, including but not limited to; MD Orders, AOB, Consent forms into EHR system.
Effectively use problem-solving skills to obtain and verify location of incoming documents.
Communicate with doctors and facilities regarding questions on referrals and confirmation of received documents
Prompt return and follow up to all interactions, prompt response to internal and external inquiries and requests.
Communicate with doctors regarding new and ongoing patients authorized for service.
Sort and file paperwork (electronically).
Maintain a working knowledge of all health information management requirements such as HIPAA
Maintain strict confidentiality.
Communicate and collaborate with Director of Revenue Cycle to effectively resolve issues impacting the referral process.
Special projects as assigned
High School Diploma or equivalent
Some college preferred
Computer literacy required.
Experience with Google is a plus
Extracting and converting electronic documents into PDFs preferred.
Experience in working with and electronic software’s
Knowledge of fax servers and PDF’s
Working knowledge of HIPAA, federal, State and local insurance regulations, and requirements
Knowledge of Microsoft products, such as Word, Excel and various Networks.
Knowledge of Google products
Detail oriented is a must.
Quick and accurate alpha/numeric data entry skills
Data Entry skills (Quick and accurate alpha/numeric)
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
