In this role you will be responsible for managing the purchase part planning department for direct and indirect materials. The main objectives are to ensure on-time delivery of purchase parts to support production schedule and achieve customer satisfaction; optimize personnel, equipment and inventories; inventory accuracy; anticipate and resolve problems with short-term containment and permanent corrective action. You will be a liaison between the vendors, schedulers and manufacturing to ensure that requirements are met 100% on time.The team is ready to act immediately on those candidates who are the best fit for the role. We pride ourselves on moving through processes quickly, and you can be sure of transparency and prompt communication throughout.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)Select, motivate, train and ensure development of a competent Materials Planners staffEnsure material planners establish and maintain ERP planning parametersEnsure team monitors vendor orders and variationFor critical issues, analyze demand and variation to ensure root cause analysis and actionsCommunicate and resolve critical issues with vendors as requiredCommunicate critical materials issues to Materials Manager and Production SchedulersEstablish, monitor and control department KPI's that will effectively contribute to the overall manufacturing objectives, company goals and customer satisfactionSupport new Suppliers part number set up, MRP parameter setting and minimum monthly reviewsInventory management / optimizationEscalate underperforming suppliers, root cause analysis and follow up to action plans to improvePremium freight recovery from suppliersSupport compliance of receiving process, ERP system adherence (ASN's), system accuracy and integrityParticipate in projects that drive continuous improvementAlign with engineering changes, product balance outs and new product launchesAlign with Continuous Improvement / Process Leads for establishing optimum storage locations, methods for handling (conveyance), proximity, 5S and visual managementAlign with Quality as required in resolving the disposition of non-conforming materialsMonitor and ensure departmental personnel conform to company policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and cost-efficient environment at all timeBe familiar with and ethically operate in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and governmental procedures relative to reporting activitiesRequired SkillsQualifications - Required Skills Advanced broad-based supply chain management, process development and manufacturing operations knowledgeDemonstrated knowledge of SAP ERP SystemsDemonstrated competency in the MS Office Suite of productsAbove average communication skills - oral, written and presentation skillsSuperior organization, planning, technical and negotiation skillsSuperior process, analytical and problem solving skills - apply / execute formal techniques (e.g.
