This position will be located in Kansas City, MO


The selected candidate will join our Microstrategy team within the IT division at the Kansas City National Security Campus. The team is responsible for working with internal business customers to identify business requirements and supporting/developing on our Microstrategy reporting platform. Daily responsibilities include leading multiple, concurrent projects and/or support efforts.

Job Duties:

  • Design, translate business requirements, develop, document, test, optimize, monitor, troubleshoot and administrate

  • our reporting environments using our approved enterprise reporting platforms

  • Lead maintenance and upgrade efforts over all enterprise reporting environments

  • Lead activities to provide enterprise reporting customer support and incident resolution

  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies and methods for area of expertise and have knowledge sharing sessions with the team

  • Communicate and accurately document all enterprise reporting platform decisions, plans, goals, functional requirements, and open items and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, and business areas

  • Build and maintain strong peer relationships within the team and across the organization

  • Leads short- and long-term planning sessions with customers to improve business processes and works closely with Technical Review Board and Enterprise Architects to assure all systems are in line with IT long-term strategy

  • Demonstrates general knowledge of Cyber Security design requirements

  • Demonstrates project management skills and may serve as a lead on IT projects

  • Establishes liaison relationships with business partners and/or suppliers in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs and influence strategic initiatives

    You Must Have:

  • U.S. Citizen in order to obtain and maintain US Dept. of Energy “Q” level security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise report administration and/or development

  • Minimum 5 years of SQL experience (ability to develop, modify, troubleshoot and optimize complex queries)

    We Value:

  • Experience working in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Windows environment

  • Experience or knowledge of a major programming language (e.g. Java, Python, C#)

  • Experience or knowledge of a scripting language (e.g. Linux shell, Windows batch, Perl, VBS)
