The production scheduling position is critical to maintaining short range planning capabilities throughout the plant. The production scheduler is focused on a 0-3 month planning window and manage all PID releases, material shortages and ship requirements. They are crucial to ensuring that the production floor is successfully set up for daily, weekly & monthly execution of requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management of Production IDs - on time release of jobs, verification/expediting of material shortages, monitoring & driving results towards aged work orders, managing point of consumptions, managing appropriate activity IDs to ensure costing accuracy
Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules and material requirements based on analysis and interpretation of data from complex, integrated computer software programs to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
Evaluates/analyzes complex planning messages generated from the planning system based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements. Identifies impact to the schedule and negotiates with Operations and Scheduling
Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed
SME for all Inventory Transactions within production area of responsibility - Key number & REID (Re-identify) management, WIP Cycle Count variance management, Surplus inventory management, Inventory transaction coordination (stores transfers, scrap & rework), kanban management, expense & order on request material management
Identifies raw material and component requirements for production schedules. Ensures components are available to meet weekly schedules. Expedites through Purchasing, Receiving Inspection, Operations
You Must Have:
- 2+ years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field (Preferred degree: Business, Supply Chain Management) or 4+ years total experience in lieu of a degree
Ability to solve problems utilizing analytical skills, demonstrated leadership & written/oral communication skills
Preferred: Previous experience in production planning/manufacturing, commercial software experience (ERP/MRP), APICS certification
