Humphrey Products Quality Control Inspector in Kalamazoo, Michigan

QC InspectorWe are looking for a motivated person willing to learn and grow in a Team environment in our Quality area. In this role you will be responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections of incoming parts, raw materials, subassemblies, and final assemblies according to written procedures and specifications. You may also be occasionally called upon to assist Calibration in rounding up and returning gages, assist in providing measurement services as layouts or special evaluations related to non-conformances and assist in the evaluation of returned products in the RGA area.uJob Duties Include:/uolliDevelop a basic understanding of the inspection and calibration processes./liliAssist in verifying conformance of incoming parts and other inspection activities as required./liliReview of Quality records such as Calibration Certs., PCPrsquo;s, Control charts, etc. for accuracy./liliOrganize and summarize inspection/test results and prepare reports utilizing good documentation practices./liliInitiate Material Complaint Notice reports on nonconforming material and provide support to Manufacturing/Assembly and Engineering when required./liliAssist in RGA (Returned Goods Area) as required./liliAssist in retrieving and returning gages for calibration (gage wrangling)./liliConducting R R Studies and Capability studies./liliMaintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with customers, vendors, co-workers and management./liliOther duties as assigned by management./li/oluQUALIFICATIONS:/uolliAble to work in a Self Managed Work Team environment and follow written or oral instructions./liliMust be thorough and meticulous, giving great attention to details related to measurement and instrument verification./liliBasic understanding of prints and specifications, tolerancing, uncertainties and GDT and their interpretation, would be a plus.olliIf not familiar, willing to complete approved course(s) to meet competency required./li/ol/liliBasic understanding of precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges and being able to accurately report the results is a plus.olliIf not familiar willing to complete approved course(s) to meet competency required./li/ol/liliUnderstand fundamentals of measuring, 10:1 rule etc../liliMaintain parts history files and written reports on nonconforming parts and materials./liliBe capable of reading and interpreting SOI's and Process Workbooks with help./liliMeet attendance criteria as described in the employee handbook./liliUnderstanding the concept of traceability as it pertains to product, material, and calibration activities./liliBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etchellip;) and willing to complete approved courses to meet competency required./liliIf currently an HP employee or contracted worker, you must meet the requirements for advancement as described in applicable employee handbook./li/ol If you are interested in becoming a team member of a progressive, growing company dedicated to continuous improvement, please respond by completing oura href="https://mail.humphrey-products.com/EmpApp.nsf/Standard\_App?OpenFormHiringCampaign=Students2011" Application for Employment/a atwww.humphrey-products.comHumphrey Products Company is an
