KSMS-OUR HOUSE SENIOR LIVING Resident Care Assistant / Caregiver in JANESVILLE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Resident Care Assistant provides direct care to residents following the individual service plan, treating each resident with respect and dignity, recognizing individual needs and encouraging independence. 1. Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, and getting to and from activities and meals according to the individual service plan. 2. Assist in preparing meals following pre-planned menus. 3. Initiates and participates in leisure activities provided for residents as described in the activity calendar. 4. Maintains resident's records daily such as documentation related to: medication distribution; leisure activities; incidents and observations; charting changes in resident's physical condition and/or behavior; visitors; etc. 5. Assists residents with medication as defined in medication procedure. 6. Performs general housekeeping following cleaning schedules for bathrooms, dining area, living space, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. 7.) Other duties as assigned. Applicants will be considered without this experience if there is a desire to become a caregiver and/or relatable experience. Ideal candidates have a track record of showing compassion, having patience, working as a team work and a warm and positive personality. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience and/or training in direct service with older adults, or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents, resident's families, and other employees of the company. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
