Position description

  • Day-to-day Advisory operations and oversight of Advisory team.

  • Advises on complex matters dealing with the employee/employer relationship.

  • Collaborate with staff, leaders, and other HR partners to execute operational goals, ensure effective and efficient operations, maintain high standards for service and operational excellence, apply best practices, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Provide direct support to customers as assigned.

  • Uses data, expertise, and persuasion to drive decisions that are in alignment with Mayo Clinic values, recognizing site and cultural differences.

  • Coordinates with enterprise Talent Acquisition Leadership to maximize and optimize local and national recruitment strategies.

  • Communicates key performance indicators from Talent Acquisition dashboards routinely with local leaders.

  • Supports the coordination of career awareness programs for workforce of the future and assists to identify support for events (i.e. hiring managers, HR team members not otherwise assigned to formal Talent Acquisition roles).

  • Supports local workforce planning initiatives and partners with CRL, HR Business Advisors, Recruiters, CoEs, and broader client centric team to identify site and organizational trends related to growth, skillset needs and surpluses.

  • Support/Manage site related projects as assigned, I.e., PERT.

  • Provide coverage for site HR leader in meetings/events as needed.

  • Requires the ability to effectively develop others and have an understanding/appreciation for creating and supporting diverse teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Labor and Industrial Relations, Business, or related field, with at least eight years relevant HR experience or a Master's in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business or related field with three to five years of relevant experience is required.

Additional qualifications

Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Knowledge of most human resource disciplines. Skill requirements include: large group facilitation, strong interpersonal skills, communication, project management, organizational, problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation, tolerance of ambiguity, and critical thinking. Models ethical behavior in alignment with Mayo Clinic values, builds strong relationships, creativity/innovation, fosters teamwork, positive influencer, and decision making ability. Demonstrated competency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. Experience with building, enhancing and/or supporting diversity and inclusion activities within a work unit.

The following certifications are preferred: Professional in Human Resources (PHR); Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR); Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR); Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP); Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

License or certification
