CEC Entertainment, the global leader in family entertainment and operator of Chuck E. Cheese and Peter Piper restaurants, has an immediate opening at our Support Center based in Irving, Texas for an experienced Accountant, Financial Reporting and Controls to join our growing team!

We have a Financial Reporting and Controls role within our $1 billion international company. This position is responsible for supporting an extensive investor related financial statement process as well as participating in the design and implementation of SOX controls. While the Company is not an SEC registrant, many of our financial reports mirror SEC filing requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience in an SEC financial reporting process and audit experience with a large public accounting firm.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in support of field services and operations. Supports the Support Center Objectives, including: \"If you are not serving the Guest, serve someone who is.\"

  • Participate in all aspects of the Company’s periodic reporting to investors, as well as the internal and external review of these documents.

  • Research, prepare and review supporting work papers, financial statements, disclosures, checklists for the Company’s periodic reporting.

  • Participate in the development of additional reporting to support company initiatives.

  • Coordinate and prepare the Company’s monthly reporting package to its Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team. Coordinate responses to questions and analyze variances related to the monthly results.

  • Review, prepare, and/or tie-out all materials for the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, conference call scripts, and investor presentations.

  • Research, advise and participate in the design and execution of internal controls for various areas of the company.

  • Prepare the quarterly reporting calendar and establish meeting dates.

  • Calculate and review non-GAAP measures, including adjusted EBITDA and free cash flow.

  • Research and resolve technical accounting issues. Review and/or write accounting position papers.

  • Prepare the company for adoption of new or revised accounting pronouncements (if applicable).

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors for the successful completion of audit work.

  • Develop and maintain an effective control environment over areas of responsibility.

  • Work with other departments to develop reporting tools and analyses.

  • Oversee and conduct special projects as needed.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required.

  • CPA preferred.

  • 2+ years’ Public Accounting experience.

  • Experience auditing and/or preparing SEC financial statements.

  • Highly proficient in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, vlookup, etc).

  • Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and to work under minimal supervision.

  • Strong interpersonal/collaboration skills; ability to interface with all levels within the organization and external partners.

  • Excellent written communication skills.

  • Strong business acumen, strong analytical skills, and an intellectual curiosity to research issues.

Physical Demands:

To perform the duties of this position, the incumbent must have the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, reach, and carry, lift, pull, push between 1 – 25 lbs. Incumbent must use a computer, with the repetitive movement of both hands. Incumbent must be able to work an 8-hour shift, with some overtime. Incumbent must also be available to travel to various locations by airplane or by operating a vehicle if needed.
