UnitedHealth Group Associate Collections Representative - Work at Home in Irving, Texas

The Associate Collections Representative is responsible for monitoring outstanding patient balances and take appropriate actions to ensure patients pay as billed. Positions in this function will work unresolved inquiries from the client, customer, and payer. This role consists of researching and reconciling patient concerns and escalations by utilizing Service Now Tickets, assisting the payment posting team as required, gather support data to ensure invoice accuracy and work through specific billing discrepancies.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00am – 5:30pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 909 Hidden Ridge, Irving TX 75038.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review all correspondence daily from the home office

  • Follow up on assigned insurance and patient accounts.

  • Assist management with supporting documentation and deadlines.

  • Update patient accounts, including obtaining proof of payment via images.

  • Solve routine problems on own; Notify Management of any issues or concerns that may arise.

  • Our ideal candidate is an adept communicator, deadline oriented, and self-motivated, with excellent follow-up and organizational skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

  • 6+ months exposure to the acquiring and/or managing of data to support a project

  • Basic Proficiency with Windows PC applications and Microsoft Office - create, edit, format (Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel)

  • Ability to work an 8- hour shift between the hours of 7:00am and 5:30pm CST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need

  • Must live within a commutable distance to Irving, TX

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree (or higher)

  • Experience working with payment posting

  • Background in a medical/healthcare setting

  • Direct healthcare data collection experience
