Citigroup Apps Support Engineer (AVP) - TTS Technology in Irving, Texas

Team/Function Overview

Trade Transaction Services (TTS) Trade Technology organization supports the Global Trade Services, Trade Finance and Supply Chain management segment of the TTS Treasury and Trade business. CITI, with the largest trade services network in the world offers a broad range of solutions that meet our global trade customer’s needs. From risk mitigation to financing, settlement to information, CITI’s trade experts and four, regional processing centers offer around –the-clock operations support and deliver world-class solutions to suppliers, buyers and Financial Institutions. International trade is the cross-border movement of goods and services that develop from a business transaction between a buyer in one country and a seller in another country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing, maintaining and supporting applications and their operating environments, focusing on stability, quality and functionality against service level expectations.

  • To develop, maintain and enhance monitoring solutions, which will require scripting knowledge to create advanced monitoring solutions.

  • To look for and create modality to move applications to the cloud and to automate our technology

  • To monitor and maintain platform stability during all business hours.

  • Manage the relationship with development and infrastructure teams.

  • Create and maintain a knowledge base to ensure that knowledge transfer takes place within the team

  • Develop and maintain technical support documentation.

  • Perform same day risk reconciliations

  • Formulates and defines scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and problem resolution

  • Reviews and develops application contingency planning to ensure availability to users.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Essential Technology Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ relevant experience in an Application Support role or in development role

  • Experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn.

  • Strong working experience with Oracle, PL/ SQL and ability to write complex SQL queries.

  • Strong knowledge in Java, J2EE and supporting experience of Java, J2EE, IBM WebSphere based applications.

  • Good experience with Unix, Linux operating systems and ability to write Shell scripts.

  • Good experience with IBM WebSphere Message Queue, TIBCO EMS platforms.

  • Good experience in Cloud technologies and familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift platform, MongoDB , ActiveMQ .

  • Familiarity with ITIL process, ServiceNow, ITRS monitoring and AppDynamics tools.

Functional Qualifications:

  • Advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization

  • Effective written and verbal communications including ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non-IT staff can understand.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills

  • Issue tracking and reporting using tools

  • Knowledge/ experience of problem Management Tools.

  • Good all-round technical skills

  • Effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams

  • Ability to plan and organize workload

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholder

Education:

Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
