As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the designing, sustaining, improving, testing, and documenting of embedded real-time software system for our ventilators These are complex devices with actuators, sensors, electronics, external interfaces, GUI, pneumatic flow and pressure controls, etc.
Detect and eliminate software design errors
Improve software robustness by refactoring complicated designs
Create software architecture documents, software design documents, code review reports, etc.
Provide technical lead/guidance and mentor to junior team members
Mentor and share your expertise to help develop others on your team
Lead small team to complete complex projects while coaching other software engineers
Identify needed advanced algorithms to provide innovative solutions to software designs
Incorporate trending and appropriate debugging techniques as necessary
Collaborate cross-functionally with system engineers, clinical experts, V&V personnel, project managers and other engineers to deliver critical projects goals and deadlines
Evaluate and provide recommendation of new software tools, operating systems, etc.
Conduct new technology research, proof of concept, and design work that will provide direction for the enhancement of the overall system and products
BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
10+ years of experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong in analytical/debugging skill
Experience with programming languages like C/C++ and C#
Experience with scripting languages Lua, Python, or equivalent
Solid understanding of Structured Design and Object-Oriented Design concepts
Solid understanding of basic computer science structures and algorithms
Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
Experience with electronic test equipment
Experience in GUI software development
Experience in real-time operating system
Experience in team lead/management role
Familiar with Microsoft Visual Studio, Git, Jira
Familiar with Windows CE is a plus
Familiar with FDA and IEC 62304 processes
