Student Clerk - Orthopedics Department Offices Posting ID123397DepartmentOrthopaedics and Rehabilitation/Carver College of MedicineJobcodeOffice WorkWorking TitleStudent Clerk - Orthopedics Department OfficesDetailsJob Duties:The Department of Orthopedics is looking for undergraduate or graduate students to perform basic office work including answering phones, typing, filing, special projects, and chart control.Position is during business hours and located University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation.Required Skills:Knowledge of office routines and functions sufficient to refer visitors and telephone calls and to route correspondence by name or functional area.Skill in operating office equipment.Ability to learn to operate a personal computer or online systems and related software.Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public.Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.Ability to learn and perform clerical procedures.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Knowledge of office software programs such as Microsoft Office.Desired Qualifications:Previous experience working in a medical or hospital setting.Previous experience answering multi-line phone.Additional Requirements:Position is for up to 20 hours a week.Must be currently registered as a student at the University of Iowa.Must be willing/available to attend necessary trainings during first months of employment, which are only available certain days of the week.To apply for the position please send a resume to Sarah Burnett sarah-burnett@uiowa.edu.
