TEKsystems Workday Business Analyst in Indianapolis, Indiana


The Senior Workday Business Analyst contractor brings strong analytical

expertise to elicit the business needs of the client in order to determine

solutions to complex business problems. They will be responsible for

leading and advising internal clients while eliciting, analyzing and

documenting business requirements in various project artifact forms (such as a

requirements traceability matrix (RTM)). The Senior Business Analyst

contractor will initially be responsible for working with key business

stakeholders to identify their reporting requirements in support of the Workday

Professional Services Automation (PSA) enterprise-wide implementation

project. The following job responsibilities will apply to this role:

• Work to understand and interpret scope and high-level business


• Work with subject matter experts to identify business needs

and translate them into complete functional and non-functional business and

user requirements while challenging them to consider new perspectives

• Use modeling and prototyping techniques and tools to discover

and clarify requirements and to refine the design

• Facilitate and perform analysis to determine and/or design the

best possible solution to fulfill those requirements

• Write functional and non-functional requirements at a level

that can be validated by the client and utilized by the technical project team

• Enter and manage all reporting requirements in the RTM

• Participate in authoring test scenarios and executing tests as


• Document and track defects/issues

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the

ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives,

managers, and subject matter experts

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the

ability to solve problems

• Ability to identify and document solutions to complex business

problems with accuracy

• Extremely detail oriented and organized

• An aptitude for learning and working with technology

• Strong customer service orientation

• Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work,

multi-task across many assignments, and create deliverables with minimal


• Ability to work in a team environment, but also self-motivated

to produce results

• Experience creating artifacts and documenting requirements for

software projects

• Expertise with group facilitation and requirements elicitation

techniques (including, but not limited to, interviews, document analysis,

requirements workshops, surveys, shadowing, etc.)

• Strong skills in requirements definition and documentation

techniques (ensuring that business requirements, user requirements, and

functional requirements are clear, concise, testable, traceable, etc.)

• Solid experience with analysis techniques/methods (including,

but not limited to, scope diagrams, RTM, data models, use cases, prototypes,


• Experience with modeling, diagramming, and prototyping tools

to generate analysis and design deliverables

• Technical writing skills to define and document reporting


• Experience troubleshooting issues and solving problems

• Skilled in use of Microsoft applications including Teams,

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in technical or business area and 5 years of

formal business analyst experience, or 8 years of equivalent work experience

• Experience with Workday is highly desirable

• Understanding of financial reporting is highly desirable

• Professional services/consulting industry experience is a plus

• Experience in eliciting and documenting requirements for

configurable software (i.e., cloud-based SaaS software) is a plus

• Prior experience with report writing software is a plus

• Prior experience with data analysis, data application

programming, ETL development, migrating to next-generation database, or related

field is a plus

• Prior experience with Agile methodology is a plus
