Responsibilities and Duties
Magnolia Health Systems is seeking a compassionate Transportation Coordinator who wants to make a difference and be part of a team who excels to succeed. Candidates who can perform the following need apply:
Responsible for using various on-site software and transportation management solutions to best coordinate patient movement throughout the healthcare continuum.
May direct various activities including, but not limited to; functioning as a liaison with various transport companies
Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner
Ensure all services are provided in a professional and courteous manner
Answer/return phone calls and emails facilitate/communication need for transportation to dispatch drivers
Communicate with necessary staff at care to inform them of scheduled transportation
Assist management with keeping track of monthly reporting
Maintain client data in a confidential manner
Cultivate strong relationship dispatch provider and care facilities
Managing and scheduling all transportation for the healthcare system
Managing the Medicaid transportation system while effectively communicating in a concise and welcoming manner at all times
Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skills while working with multiple departments within each healthcare facility to foster relationships with referring facilities, physicians, hospital staff, and other EMS providers
Monitoring of throughput, documenting status updates, and communicating updates to all customers as defined by the protocol.
Serves as a key member of the client?s transfer center team and is expected to assist client staff as requested or when a need has been identified.
May coordinate and allocate the response of EMS resources, utilizing computer and telephone technology to effectively reduce patient care delays associated with the transfer processes by determining Emergent / Non-Emergent resource allocation and notifying the appropriate transportation facilitator of the transport needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years? experience in the medical industry preferred
Discharge Planner a plus
Prior experience as an Emergency Medical dispatcher (EMD or E911), call taker, or transport coordinator preferred
Experienced with transport coordination and/or medical transportation logistics software
Knowledge and experience with Managed Care, Medicare, state specific Medicaid regulations and electronic referral management
Ability to work prolonged shift in an office environment
