Manager of Quality Control oversees the Engineering Services PMA Inspection Team and quality system while ensuring the integrity of the product and services of the company, compliance with the FAA regulations, AAR Corporate policies and procedures, and other regulatory agencies as applicable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assume responsibility for the overall operation of AAR Engineering Services Quality Management System.
Supervise and perform same duties as PMA QC Inspectors and Authorized Release Document Inspectors (issue FAA Form 8130-3).
Coordinate training of the inspection operations.
Verify Receiving Inspection is in compliance with the purchase order, which includes certification and traceability of parts and materials as defined by the Quality Procedures Manual, FAA and AAR Corporation.
Assume responsibility for FAA PMA inspection approvals and submit applications to the FAA MIDO.
Manage the internal audit schedule and conduct audits.
Manage corrective action events in AAR's APRISe system.
Meet with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
Prepare for and represent the company during FAA and ASA-100 audits.
Prepare all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel (progress, status, productivity).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from a (4) year college or university; or a minimum of eight years (8) progressive management / supervision related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In depth knowledge and prior experience with 14CFR Part 21 operations is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
FAA A&P License preferred.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The candidate for this position should be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds. They must also comply with the standards set by OSHA for lifting.
The environment characteristic for this position is an office setting as well as warehouse environment. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business and warehouse setting.
