Reporting to the CFO, the Vice President, Tax serves as the source of tax expertise and leadership for the company and oversees all tax matters. This is a key finance team member responsible for company direction on taxation.
Oversee all areas of tax; specializing in but not limited to income/franchise/excise, sales/use tax, property tax, permits/licenses/inspections and unclaimed property.
Collaborate with multi-departmental management to streamline processes and establish standard procedures.
Coordinate and communicate with income/franchise/excise, sales/use and property tax auditors to minimize impact on internal resources and ultimate assessments.
Ensuring compliance with all tax regulations, as well as planning, development and implementation of strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
Assurance that all tax reporting and accounting is accurate and in accordance with state, local and federal tax and accounting regulations.
Analyze the effect of tax regulations, laws and accounting alternatives to ensure correct application of new or existing tax regulations.
Manages staff and is responsible for their performance and development.
The Perfect Match:
Minimum of 10 years of tax related experience
CPA certification or MST
Strong analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong personal integrity
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or related field of study
7+ years of Life, Health, and Medicare Insurance sales, business development, and/or marketing experience
ASC 740 experience
Public Accounting firm or large multinational corporate tax department experience
Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
