The Role:

Reporting to the CFO, the Vice President, Tax serves as the source of tax expertise and leadership for the company and oversees all tax matters. This is a key finance team member responsible for company direction on taxation.

  • Oversee all areas of tax; specializing in but not limited to income/franchise/excise, sales/use tax, property tax, permits/licenses/inspections and unclaimed property.

  • Collaborate with multi-departmental management to streamline processes and establish standard procedures.

  • Coordinate and communicate with income/franchise/excise, sales/use and property tax auditors to minimize impact on internal resources and ultimate assessments.

  • Ensuring compliance with all tax regulations, as well as planning, development and implementation of strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.

  • Assurance that all tax reporting and accounting is accurate and in accordance with state, local and federal tax and accounting regulations.

  • Analyze the effect of tax regulations, laws and accounting alternatives to ensure correct application of new or existing tax regulations.

  • Manages staff and is responsible for their performance and development.

The Perfect Match:

  • Minimum of 10 years of tax related experience

  • CPA certification or MST

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong personal integrity

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or related field of study

  • 7+ years of Life, Health, and Medicare Insurance sales, business development, and/or marketing experience


  • ASC 740 experience

  • Public Accounting firm or large multinational corporate tax department experience

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
