HARRIS COUNTY Therapist - Bilingual in Houston, Texas
Position Description
The Therapist will provide therapeutic services to child sexual abuse survivors and their non-offending family members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children who experience trauma symptoms resulting from child sexual abuse
- Conducts weekly individual, group, and family therapeutic services with child sexual abuse survivors and their non-offending families to address mental, emotional, and behavioral conditions utilizing TF-CBT, EMDR, play therapy, art therapy, and/or other evidence based and/or trauma informed therapeutic modalities
- Performs elements of clinical practice (biopsychosocial assessments, diagnosis using DSM V and other standards and treatment)
- Performs treatment planning, evaluation of traumatized children, crisis intervention, consultation to other multi-disciplinary team members, and civil and criminal court testimony
- Provides crisis intervention including suicide assessments and homicide assessments
- Provides fact witness court testimony in civil and/or criminal cases on occasion
- Provides consultation and training to parents, foster parents, and community volunteers and professionals
- Performs other duties as required

Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or closely related mental health field
- Licensed to practice in the State of Texas as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A)
- Knowledge of abuse populations, trauma, attachment, child development, crisis intervention, and psychotherapeutic techniques
- Maintains documentation and meets expectations related to deadlines associated with documentation
- Bilingual - Spanish oral and written
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing
- Ability to foster a hospitable work environment
