Robert Half International Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Horsham Area, Pennsylvania

Description

Our client, a service organization in a construction related industry seeks an accounting supervisor to join their dynamic team!

Responsibilities of the successful accounting supervisor will include:

Financial Reporting and Work in Process (WIP) Reviews

Analyzing job tracking from the operational managers to ensure that earned revenue is sufficient to cover costs per project

Accrue for significant outstanding AP expenses

Forecast job performance per project

Track WIP for each project

Prepare acceptable documentation to support monthly WIP reviews for year-end audit and for upper management.

Assist Month End and Profit and Loss Review

Investigate questionable variances and timely prepare correcting entries.

Prepare various end of Month Financial Reports

Assist with the year end audit providing support documents for WIP write-off’s and expense details

Review customer legal contracts related to billing, for volume discount terms, billing rates, and to confirm contract type for review of the WIP.

Requirements

The successful accounting supervisor will possess the following qualifications:

Experience supervising and developing successful teams

Experience collaborating with management on a regular basis going over multiple jobs in terms of revenue, expenses and variances

ASC 606 / Earned Revenue Recognition experience

Intermediate - Advanced Excel skills

Year End Audit experience (from either public accounting or partnering with external accountants from the company side)

Ability to read and review contracts in terms of set pricing/billing

Ability to work additional hours when needed for end of month closes and special projects

Additional background of the successful accounting supervisor will include:

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • Financial reporting experience preferred

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financial Management

  • US GAAP experience

  • Corporate Income experience

  • PeopleSoft experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience

  • Proven technical skills

  • Customer service oriented communication skills that allow for pleasant and beneficial interactions with all customers

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently
