Job Description:

At Regions, the Small Business Administration (SBA) Sales Support Specialist supports both clients and SBA Bankers in the loan origination process. This position serves as the administrative point of contact to clients and provides marketing and analytical support to SBA Bankers to assist with business development efforts. SBA Sales Support Specialists are intended to be sourced into SBA Banker or Operations roles upon mastery of the skillset.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinates end-to-end SBA lending process by communicating detailed needs and requests between clients, SBA Ops team, Commercial Banking team, and third party vendors throughout the approval, funding, and closing process

  • Ensures deal documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted properly

  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of SBA Operations framework, policy, and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) to stay up-to-date on eligibility and documentation requirements

  • Serves as the first line of defense for reviewing items received and understanding how to handle them

  • Assists SBA Bankers with business development activities to include marketing requests, pitchbooks, and building prospect files

  • Maintains OneView administrative data to include updating client contact information, merging client records, manage pipeline reports for expiration dates, and create prospect/applicant/COI records.

  • Builds knowledge base to become a subject matter expert on the SBA loan origination process from business development activity through loan closing

This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.


  • Bachelor's degree

  • Or High school diploma and (4) years of previous banking, sales or sales support experience
