1ST SHIFT (United States of America)

Summary: This position is part of a group of Team Members who are committed to supplying cost competitive, high quality product by taking care of people, achieving operational and environmental excellence, managing risks and exceeding customer expectations in a workplace that provides for individual dignity and respect. This position is responsible for the production of high quality product in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work place and clean environment. This position is also responsible for the training of team members respective to the facility. Specific duties include directing and providing leadership to farm Team Members, working to understand all costs and production volumes at the farm level and including spending/budgeting, assisting the supervisor in oversight of the safety of all farm Team Members and ensuring the biosecurity of the unit and farm; all environmental issues including pit and lagoon level compliance, water and air quality, waste removal and reporting. Other requirements ensuring Customer Satisfaction including PQA (Pork Quality Assurance) as well as facility and dwelling maintenance; implementing and monitoring policies and procedures; reporting production numbers, environmental numbers, safety issues, accidents and human resources issues timely and accurately as well as any other duties that may arise.

Requirements: Education: Requires a Bachelor’s degree (BS) from four-year College or University. Animal Science degree is preferred. Experience: Experience in live swine production is preferred but not required. Computer Skills: Requires standard skills in spreadsheets and word processing. Prefer knowledge in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Travel: Minimal to attend training. Supervisory Responsibility: Will vary per assignment. Biosecurity: When visiting jobsites/bio-secure environments, showering before entering the facilities is required.

Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsites except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any live swine species. The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.
