Summary of Position
The Financial Analyst IV will be part of the Hobart Finance Team and will be responsible for overseeing month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, performing journal entries/postings and account reconciliations, managing overhead, fixed asset, and R&D budgets, while continuously improving transactional processes and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Job Results & Essential Functions

Month End Close Adheres to Corporate and Site Standards
Execute general accounting close responsibilities including: analyzing and reconciling accounts, performing journal entries, liaising with members of the corporate finance team, and providing hands-on guidance to junior members of the team Ensure accurate valuation of accounts payable, accruals, spares inventory, project spend, fixed assets/depreciation, and expenditures Provide variance to budget and forecast analysis for management reporting Assist with preparation of monthly financial reporting Ensures the integrity of data produced by the financial systems.

Ensures departmental and project spend budgets are maintained
Assist with the preparation of monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and annual strategic plans. Improve current data collection/reporting processes for expense spend, project cost, and capital projects. Lead monthly budget performance reviews diving into variances and mitigating unforeseen challenges. Work with management team to ensure spend is within budgeted limits, explain deviations to budget and make recommendations for corrective action. Provides support for capital investment processes including occasional payback analyses. Provides financial support for the calculation of cost reduction project savings. Supports and performs special projects; miscellaneous financial analysis, spreadsheet, worksheet, and graph preparation, as needed. Partners with functional leaders in the businesses with an emphasis on collaboration and providing best possible financial support to the organization.

Internal & External Audits
Ensure the plant is in compliance with GAAP and all Company financial policies/procedures. Assists in performing Sarbanes-Oxley assessment/testing in order to ensure the proper internal controls are in place and functioning properly. Assists in internal/external audit process providing necessary detail and explanation. Coordinates preparation of internal and external audit materials; may assist with the development and testing of internal controls.

Trusted Financial Advisor to the Business
Works closely with the site management teams to assist them in obtaining their objectives. Serves as a connector and bridge across the various leaders by sharing best practices. Drive continuous improvement across the site related to preferred transactional process. Is an agent for change for the Accounting function. Collaborates effectively with site leaders to influence and communicate changes that will improve overall financial performance. Work on various Special Projects of an ad hoc nature in support of business objectives.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting. MA, MBA or CPA preferred.

Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in general accounting

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
High degree of Excel Proficiency is required.
General Accounting experience is required.
Experience in Cost Accounting highly preferred.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
Experience working with complex enterprise systems such as JDE, SAP, Oracle, Epicor or BPCS.
Prior experience with payroll, accounts payable, and inventory transactions a plus.
Solid communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to interact positively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Ability to train in a remote work environment with the intent of returning onsite at a later date.
Experience presenting financial data to non-financial audiences.
Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Excellent skills using Microsoft Office applications.
Must be able to work in a team-oriented, fast paced environment.

Other Skills/Competencies:
Knowledge of SEC regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley.
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
