Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr. Staff R&D Manager in Hillsboro, Oregon
Oversee and manage highly technical joint developments, product evaluation and new application development projects for Strategic Semiconductor Customers.
Oversee the activities of multiple disciplines (Install, Service, Technical Support, Apps Development, Process Development, Account Management and Customer Service) to coordinate the successful install, startup, development, launch and utilization of new products at strategic customers or technology development centers (i.e. IMEC) within the Semiconductor industry.
Identify project's risks and opportunities, plan each activity within each project, coordinate the activities internally and externally and track them until they reach final realization.
Develop and manage project plans and ensure on-time delivery.
Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project.
Develop program schedules based on product requirements, system requirements, technical challenges, lead-times and business needs.
Ensure that projects meet appropriate safety standards.
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, and implement improvement strategies.
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Electronic Engineering, Electronics and Communication Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of product marketing, program management, strategic account management or related experience.
Must have experience or knowledge of:
Electron microscopy and dual beam instruments (SEM & FIB combine in single instrument);
Automated Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) sample preparation as related to semiconductor IC samples;
Semiconductor physical failure analysis workflow experience;
Managing large scale joint development or joint evaluation projects over extended time horizons (6 - 18 months) with large Tier 1 semiconductor manufactures; and
Managing large strategic customer interactions and managing customer expectations as primary contact for project deliverables.
Up to 30% travel (international and domestic)
