S.G. Morris Co., a subsidiary of Applied Industrial Technologies (NYSE: AIT), the world's largest fluid power distributor, is looking for an Engineer who will assist our sales force with technical expertise for the design of fluid power systems and customer system integrations. This includes preparing hydraulic schematics, test procedures and recommend components. You will provide integral project management for these systems.Essential Functions:Ability to work with AutoCAD LT for wiring diagrams and panel layouts.Fundamental understanding of UL, CE, CSA and NEC. Ability to read and understand these and other standards.Generate terminal wiring diagrams for HPU's based on BOM from hydraulic schematics. (Ability to read hydraulic schematic a must).Develop estimate quotes based on customer/salesmen descriptions of potential job requirements.Select components appropriate for applications (mobile, industrial, environmental, etc.)Develop full electrical project schematics and component BOM to meet application requirements.Develop panel layouts. Must understand layout flow for power and logic wiring isolation.Program PLC's and HMI's using RSLogix 500 and Studio 5000.Program HMI's using C_More programming software.Work with shop to insure wiring is in accordance with project requirements.Understanding of mobile controls and components a plus.Troubleshoot electrical issues via phone, e-mail and in person on site at customer facilities. (Understanding the difference between electrical and hydraulic issues)Deal with requests from multiple salesmen at one time.Additional responsibilities:Coordinate projects withbranch personnel, including sales and shop associates.Travel to customer locations occasionally required.Mechanical hands-on assistance may be required on occasion.Requirements: Degree in engineering, Electrical preferredWorking knowledge of DesignCAD or SolidWorksUp to 1 year technical design knowledge of fluid power- primarily HydraulicsAbility to read / understand technical drawings.Preferred:Fluid Power schematic experienceFluid Power Industry experienceDesired characteristics:Work independently and as part of a team.Listening, negotiating, and effective questioning skills.Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems.Organization skills, detailed oriented and written communication skills.PC proficiency with Word, Excel and other Office applicationCapable of handling multiple tasks simultaneouslyS.
