JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A Junior faculty Researcher position is immediately available to study the autonomic control of circulation in health and cardiovascular diseases. Our laboratory uses multidisciplinary approaches to study sympathetic and cardiovascular responses to muscle afferent inputs and neural mechanisms of the response. Background in cardiovascular physiology/neurophysiology and expertise using patch clamp methods to record in vitro ion currents in cell lines, dissociated neuronal cell and brain slice is required. Required qualifications include a PhD or MD/PhD degree and substantial research experience plus over 5 years postdoctoral training in the fields of physiology or a related field. A candidate with a productive record of manuscripts related to ion channels published in peer-reviewed journals is preferred.
