Small Business Administration Supervisory Administrative Specialist (Travel Credit Card & Service Desk) in Herndon, Virginia

Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Administrative Specialist (Travel Credit Card & Service Desk) for the Small Business Administration, Office of Disaster Assistance, Administrative Services Center - ASC in Herndon, Virginia. This position provides management of subordinate staff and program oversight of ASC's Travel Credit Cards, Reconciliation and Service Desk Branch; serves as a principal advisor on travel credit cards and service desk program.

Responsibilities

As a Supervisory Administrative Specialist (Travel Credit Card & Service Desk) at the GS-0301-13, some of your typical work assignments may include: Responsible for managing the ODA Government Travel Credit Card (GTCC) program and its daily operations. Responsible for recommending, developing and implementing policies related to the ODA GTCC program in accordance with the Federal Travel Regulations (FTR). Review subordinates' written communication (emails, letters, memos) to travelers and verify the information provided is clear, concise and presented in a courteous manner. Receive escalated customer service matters that are unusual, complex or cannot be resolved by subordinate staff and monitor the resolution through to its completion. Conducts cost benefit analyses, compiles reports and identifies organizational, procedural and production issues. Supervises a staff: assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of subordinates; evaluates performance; resolves complaints; effects minor disciplinary measures; etc. Uses Microsoft Office applications to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint among others. Utilizes Oracle based systems, electronic databases and Web-based systems during the performance of duties. IMPORTANT NOTES: This is a Cadre position, which is a competitive service status position with a full-time seasonal work schedule. Generally, time in Non-Pay status is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed below.

You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience: To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer. Average work hours must be stated on the resume to quantify each period of work experience or that experience will not be credited toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.

You must address the specific specialized experience required for each grade level of this position on your resume or application or you will be rated "Ineligible" for that grade level. GS-13: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-12 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with an organization credit card program or maintenance of a help desk. Identifying organizational, procedural and production issues and providing solid recommendations for improvement within a department or organization. Providing customer service to internal and/or external customers by assessing needs, providing information or assistance, and resolving problems. Using software and automated systems designed to accomplish and manage the work in an administrative services department, including travel arranging. Leading or supervising administrative projects, or a team/staff of diverse employees in the day-to-day administrative and program support operations, for an organization/office. OR
