MAXAR Geospatial Data Specialist (TS/SC w/ Poly) in Herndon, Virginia

As a part of our team, you can help turn this complex problem into a real solution for an important Intelligence Community customer. Maxar is looking to build a team of motivated software developers and training data specialists to make the customer's vision a reality. Work will be based out of Herndon, VA.

The individual should enjoy working with people and will proactively search for base data layers and specialized data sets to support analysts' projects through existing repositories and through forging new relationships with other data providers. The person should have knowledge and experience with using geospatial data sources from industry, academia, the intelligence community, military, and the scientific community. The individual will work with collections staff to craft requirements and coordinate efforts. The candidate must have experience using ArcGIS. The individual will also manage all of the group's geospatial data holdings.

What you will be doing:

  • Contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of an automated machine learning framework

  • Creating and curating data to be used in an automated machine learning pipeline

  • Contributing to computer vision object detecion models by developing high quality training data sets

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

  • Proficiency in ArcGIS and/or open source equivalents

  • Motivated, self-starter initiative

  • Versatile geospatial skills to assist with data editing, manipulation and visualization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to distinguish objects in remotely sensed imagery and photographs

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products

  • Works well in a team environment

  • Possesses familiarity with geospatial data formats

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience
