Business Development Executive Diplomacy and Justice

Perspecta is currently hiringa highly regarded Business Development executive within the Federal Government arena, with proven ability to grow business in the Diplomacy and Justice market, specifically: Department of Justice, U.S. Courts, Department of State, the United Nations and the World Bank

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of success in identifying and winning new business, and in leading business development teams in capturing targeted programs in Federal Civilian Agencies. It is important for the candidate to have experience building a robust, targeted pipeline of opportunities that will drive and ensure growth goals. The most critical skill sets required are strong strategic planning abilities and an unrelenting focus on winning business with a record of “big” wins in the key customer segments: DOJ, US Courts, DOS, USAID, Foreign Affairs, UN, World Bank

It is also important that the candidate have a ‘Rolodex’ of contacts and relationships within the IT and systems integration community and the government client community, specifically across Federal Civilian Agencies like, Treasury, Federal Reserve Bank, FDIC, PGBC, and SSA.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and leverages resources to create, identify, develop, and qualify opportunities

  • Achieve growth and new business sales goals through winning new business, securing contract recompetes, and driving organic program growth

  • Develop and maintain an active pipeline of opportunities in alignment and consistent with corporate strategy and goals

  • Primary interface with customer community and building customer relationships through effective communications, both with internal and external customer bases

  • Develop strategies to "shape" requirements and acquisition strategy

  • Identify and target new business markets, adjacencies, and partnerships

  • Assist in guiding buying organizations by demonstrating technology solutions, architectures, capabilities, and potential acquisition paths for early stage opportunities, working with internal technical and program management teams to develop responses for requests for information (RFI), market survey’s, white papers, presentations, briefings, and major event demonstrations.

Qualifications

  • 12-15 years related work experience with a majority related to business development, marketing, or technical and engineering solutions in the Federal Civilian Market space

  • Bachelor’s degree or additional equivalent military or work experience

  • A successful record of supporting and winning contracts with Federal Civilian Agencies – specifically in the Diplomacy and Justice market

  • Proven experience in building relationships with strategic teaming partners (prime and sub).

  • Ability to developed and mature key relationships within the customer’s organizations

  • Ability to operate independently but still retain an enterprise focus

  • Demonstrated understanding of client’s needs in order to align Perspecta’s capabilities and core values.

  • Proven ability to structure key partnerships and alliances and to establish and grow new relationships is a critical success factor.

  • Must demonstrate high energy, integrity, strong business acumen, professionalism and commitment.

  • Highly effective communicator to all levels within the company and with clients.

  • Demonstrated experience with the maze of rules, regulations and idiosyncrasies that drive the Federal Government technology capture process.

  • Prior experience working directly for federal government agencies - preferred
