IBM Public Cloud Security Operations Program Manager in HEREDIA, Costa Rica

Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM Cloud CISO Office is responsible for defining the security and controls for IBM’s Public Cloud platform. As the marketplace for Cloud Services has matured large corporations seek Hybrid Cloud solutions that integrate the security needed for highly regulated areas (FedRAMP, Financial Markets, etc.); the Cloud CISO organization is responsible for designing and architecting that security environment to meet the needs of consumers and auditors in those regulatory bodies.

This position is for an exceptional Technical Program Manager to drive and execute on IBM Cloud CISO security and architecture technical projects, one who is excited by and excels at bringing order and understanding to complex projects, and executing on key technical strategic initiatives. To both drive and position IBM Cloud as the Platform for secure regulated workloads, we need to drive and execute on technical programs to deliver on key IBM Public Cloud initiatives, including Cloud architecture and security patterns, documentation and architecture artifacts, including data boundary models, network flows, compliance controls and procedures, operator access patterns, and Cloud Platform-wide System Security Plans to be used in high-profile customer engagements and audits. These will be created and derived from coordinating and working with a large security engineer team and security architecture team.

IBM Cloud’s ability to retain and capture highly regulated customers will hinge on our ability to communicate how and why our Cloud Platform meets regulatory and customer expectations; our Technical Program Managers for the IBM Cloud CISO Office play a pivotal role for IBM Cloud, with significant opportunities to align technical strategy with key IBM Cloud business strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

Manage global large-scale, cross-functional, and cross-organization projects, and track to completion; regularly communicate status and technical progress across organizations and upline to executives and senior technical leaders

Manage competing business and technical priorities, in an environment that can and bring daily changes in priorities, this role will be a driving force to bring clarity and share impacts for shifting requests.

Drive and track technical issues to closure, leveraging a larger technical team, and find solutions for issues as they arise

Research technical initiatives, with a primary emphasis on architecture, and security and compliance initiatives

Produce documentation related to IBM Public Cloud architecture, security, and compliance guidance for IBM Cloud services and software offerings

Work closely with IBM Cloud CISO and service engineering teams and architects to develop solutions for large regulatory changes and challenges and bring them to the public Cloud at speed.

Actively participate in and execute on IBM Cloud CISO architectural decisions, design decisions, service reviews, and work open actions to close on Project goals and drive to set timelines

Work closely with remote, distributed teams in all phases of Cloud services development

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience managing all aspects of security testing projects; including development of project tasks as necessary with input from the client, Technical teams, Architecture teams, and Compliance teams.

  • 5+ years of demonstrated ability to manage multiple offerings and environments across a wide variety of customers with differing requirements.

  • 5+ years of experience allocating resources appropriately to meet client/program needs and minimize resource contention.

  • 5+ years of experience coordinating stakeholder meetings.

  • 5+ years of experience creating / Managing an integrated master project plan across multiple offerings.

  • 5+ years of experience utilizing PM professional skills to enhance the level of service and quality of client deliverables.

  • Ability to collect technical inputs and create solutions to meet client requirements.

  • Candidate must have managed an IT team in the past.

  • Candidate must have experience with SOC2, PCI, and HIPPA.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3+ years of knowledge and experience with security testing services, either traditional and/or cloud-based environments.

  • Skills in a formal PM discipline (PMI or other PM accreditation is a plus).

  • 3+ years of experience with security compliance guidelines for NIST 800-53.

  • 3+ years of demonstrated knowledge of the security testing industry, key business issues, and priorities.

  • ITIL V3 Certification preferred.
