Opportunity Bank of Montana is adding to our outstanding team with a Payroll Specialist. The successful candidate will maintain confidentiality, have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, and be proficient in computer use including the Microsoft Office Suite and paperless workflow. As our Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for administering all payroll functions and assisting with benefit inquiries in addition to assisting with other Human Resource functions:

  • Responsible for timely and accurate management of payroll process including administeringelectronic timekeeping system, maintaining employee records, initiating payroll, submitting taxdeposits and preparing reports in accordance with department's established audit and internalcontrol procedures.

  • Perform paperless workflow for payroll and benefit related changes.

  • Answer basic inquiries and provide resources to employees and managers regarding payroll andbenefits.

  • Assist with extraction and compilation of payroll and benefit-related data.

  • Maintenance of confidential employee files and records.

  • Assist with preparation of payroll entries to general ledger accounts.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Education and Experience Preferences

2 years of college coursework (accounting, human resources or related) & 1-year experience inaccounting, human resources or related field - or equivalent combination of education & experience

Experience in administering and processing payrolland electronic timekeeping software

Knowledge of Federal and State payroll laws andpayroll best practices
