The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Mid-Level Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineering) located in Heath, OH. This position will be responsible for product performance for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) flight equipment. The MinuteMan-III (MM-III) was fielded in the late 1990's and is planned to be retired after 2038. The system currently performs with highest MTBF in its history. This position will monitor identify, satisfy and validate requirements for flight hardware and sensors before they are sold off to the government.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Apply knowledge of Boeing design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle

  • Analyze, conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for design non-conformances

  • Apply engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and designs interim and final engineering solutions

  • Identify documents, analyzes reported problems and communicates deviations that could impact design intent and safety; recommends and manages resolution

  • Develop and implement product/process improvements

  • Support Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participates in design reviews

  • Represent the engineering community in the build through post production environment

  • Ensure supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards

  • Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment

  • Participate in on-site disabled product repair teams and accident investigation or support team

  • Analyze damage repair or structural modification to determine appropriate jacking and shoring, prevent collateral damage and assure a safe work environment

  • Design interim structural repairs and conducts static strength analysis

  • Develop non-destructive test procedures, tools and standards

  • Conduct simple static strength analysis

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 3+ years of experience with systems engineering experience involving the ability to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system solutions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Engineering degree in any of the following majors: Aeronautical Engineering; Aerospace Engineering; Mechanical Engineering

  • 3+ years of engineering experience with any of the following? (Classical and Modern Control; Control Actuators; Guidance Controls; Inertial Sensors; Modeling and Simulation; Navigation Controls)

  • Experience in developing, maintaining and identifying improvements to the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
