JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Hartford Union High School District (9-12) is in search of an innovative and highly dynamic leader to serve as the Hartford Union High School Principal commencing with the 2021-2022 school year to lead with a vision and mission focused on academic excellence, along with a sharp focus on career, college, and citizenship life readiness. The High School Principal must have proven success as an instructional leader, who can clearly see both possibilities and obstacles, and develop a plan of action to move academic achievement forward. They must model a strong desire of professional growth, high standards, and expectations for all staff. The High School Principal plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and implements the operations and programs of the school under the direction of the superintendent. The High School Principal serves as a spokesperson for the school and advocates for the district as an active member of the community. Qualifications - M.A./M.S. in Educational Leadership or related field - Current certification or eligible for a Wisconsin certification as a school principal - Successful teaching experience - Administrative experience - Organizational skills - Strong instructional leadership skills - Excellent communication skills - Knowledge of high school curriculum - Strong understanding of and experience with College and Career Readiness, and Academic and Career Planning - Minimum of three years demonstrated success as a building/district administrator, or equivalent experience - Minimum of three years of demonstrated success as a classroom teacher or other full-time school, professional position, e.g., Counselor, Social Worker, Library Media Specialist, etc Responsibilities of the Position: - Provide instructional leadership - Manage school operations and resources - Build a supportive and inclusive school culture - Be an agent for continuous improvement - Cultivate a community of professional learners The Hartford Union High School District is unique in many ways, but goes above and beyond to serve our students.
