Army National Guard Units SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (Title 32) in Hartford, Connecticut

Summary

THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: United States Property & Fiscal Office (USPFO), Harford, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Army National Guard.

Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the Connecticut Army National Guard.

Responsibilities

This is an indefinite position that may convert to permanent without further competition. JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to manage supply related activities including support of inventory control, storage, distribution, cataloging, supply identification systems, property utilization and other related supply activities using standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS). NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Army National Guard. The major duties include, but are not limited to: Serves as manager for assigned materials. Reviews justification and approves issues for emergency requests. Manages and reviews supply transactions based on dollar limitations, status of Obligation Authority (OA), status of consumer funds and verifying with requisitioning activity. Is responsible for managing the DOD Activity Address File (DODAAF) to include additions, changes and deletions. Maintains contacts with customers for critical shortages.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 12 months of specialized experience in the following: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts. Experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies and procedures to conduct extensive searches for required information and to reconstruct records for complex supply transactions. Knowledge of local supply requirements to ensure supply support for overhaul, repair, maintenance, and other operations. Knowledge of one or more STAMIS to enter, correct and retrieve recurring reports and to structure and retrieve specialized reports. COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training. Primary Change of Station (PCS) relocation expenses will NOT be paid. Under 32 U.S.C. 709, Veterans Preference does NOT apply. For M-Day/Traditional personnel who are currently receiving incentives to include Bonuses and the Student Loan Repayment Program, the following termination rule applies: Incentive Termination without Recoupment: If you accept a Military Technician (Mil Tech) Permanent position where membership in the National Guard is a condition of employment, your bonus will be terminated with no recoupment as long as you have served at least 6 months of the bonus contract following receipt of the initial bonus payment.
