Patient Transport:

• POSITION SUMMARY:

To transport patient from their origin to their destination in a timely manner while ensuring their safety

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for a qualified individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Meet the goal of 3 transports per hour under 16 minutes

• Check patient I.D. bracelet and match the MR# with the patient s bracelet and speak to nurse before leaving the floor with the patient

• Uses delay codes when it is appropriate and reschedules patients after 10 minutes

• Used the Dr. Lift technique according to hospital policy

• Calls for help only when needed and tries to use the techs on the floor for lifting help

• Performs SBAR communication with requesting department and with the nurse, signs patient in and out after and before transporting the patient

• Returns equipment back to the shed and tags all broken equipment and places it back in the shed for repair

• Any and all other duties as assigned by the Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 years of age

Must be able to read and write

High School graduate or equivalent

Must be able to pull and push to transfer patients
