Eaton Corporation Lead Engineer-Reliability in Hadapsar Pune, India

This exciting role offers opportunity to:

  • Responsible for leading large complex projects independently on EIIC NTI/NPI deck. Identifying, managing and mitigating reliability and safety risks on the deck projects.

  • Collaborate with PM’s to define R&S milestones, activities & effort for all deck projects. Execute the plan leveraging R&S team members and product engineering.

  • Lead R&S reviews with ES LT on deck projects.

  • Assist in planning and implementing technology road map (Electrical Sector related items) for R&S.

  • Assist in enhancing the engineering maturity model for team in the area of R&S.

  • Mentor ES product technical leads in identifying, managing and mitigating reliability and safety risks on NPI/NTI deck.

  • Provide project, process, and technical leadership in area of DfR. Mentor team members to deliver their projects.

  • In addition to above, will be responsible to drive ‘DfSS & DfR’ rigor in electrical sector product teams as part of NPI efficacy team.

Your essential responsibilities:

  • Utilize DFR concepts / tools such as scorecard, DFMEA, Risk Management, Hazard and Risk Analysis & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements

  • Work with cross functional teams and global reliability engineering teams for designing in reliability on NPI programs modifications & warranty reduction programs

  • Participate as a team member on new product development and is responsible for identifying, managing and mitigating reliability and safety risks.

  • Planning milestones, executing milestones, conducting technical and project reviews, communication and on-job development through technical mentoring to project team

  • Creates, and sustains process and procedures governing product design methods, documents and data control for the associated business group

  • Drives PROLaunch execution for NPI programs with work package approvals, engineering management plan and attaining all engineering deliverables per activity matrix.



  • Bachelor's in electrical/electronics with min 10 years relevant work expor Master’s Degree in Reliability Engineering min 6 years relevant work experience or PhD with min 3 years relevant work experience. ASQ CRE certification is preferred

  • Work experience in thearea of electrical power transmissions components and systems

  • Proficiency in DFR process like goal setting, allocation, prediction, demonstration (life data analysis, growth plots & ALT). Skilled in the areas of reliability statistics, FTA/FMEA, 8D, developing & analyzing component failure rates. Knowledge in FRACAS, and reducing field/warranty data into relevant life and failure rate information. Hands-on experience in developing and analyzing reliability (endurance and durability) from demo test for systems. Experience with any industry proven reliability analysis suite of tools, Reliasoftpreferred.
