Develops and implements production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most efficient manner for new and existing assembly/molding processes. Monitors the assembly/molding process; troubleshooting problem processes and assisting in resolving quality issues.
+ Implement the startup of new/existing projects/production jobs, optimizing cost, efficiency and quality.
+ Establish and ensure process control and maintains appropriate documentation.
+ Monitor machine management data in order to maximize utilization and minimize machine-generated scrap.
+ Assist with establishing process for new product lines; document product development and changes; evaluate new product performance and monitor new tool design.
+ Debut moderately complex problems within a portion of new systems, tooling and automation.
+ Ensure that process parameters are within acceptable tolerances for products and components.
+ Implement experiments to enhance processes as well as improve yields and utilization through reduced cycle and efficient set-up.
+ Provide input on creative ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes and systems.
+ Implement maintenance changes in process improvements; propose or specify repair alteration of automation while ensuring adequate documentation is maintained.
+ Coordinate line reconfigurations and machine move activities, including equipment arrival, positioning and installation, and scheduling of support groups (Machine Support, Facilities, MIS, etc.) using the approved communication process.?
+ Verify that machine maintenance is performed as scheduled on assigned line(s).
+ Provide guidance, assistance and / or training to the Manufacturing Engineering Technicians.?
+ Encourage open communication and exchange of information within the M.E. department and between the various support groups.
+ Assist in establishing clear, measurable and attainable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results.
+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment; supporting all company safety programs and initiatives.
+ Apply and support lean manufacturing principles.
+ Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
+ Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.
+ Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or plastics engineering (or and equivalent combination of education, training or experience).
+ 3 plus years related experience.
+ Clean room, machine maintenance, assembly manufacturing, processing parameters and controls experience is preferred.
+ Scientific Injection Molding experience a plus
