Company is seeking a Senior-Level Process Engineer for ourGreenwood Village, CO office, to join a team of engineering and designprofessionals. Merrick is specifically seeking expertise in the IndustrialBiotechnology market. Merrick is a market leader in projects involving theconversion of biomass to high value products. The Senior Process Engineerwill support and continue to build Merrick's bioprocessing practice in theUS, Canada, and beyond.Job DescriptionProcess engineer to work primarily on cutting edge industrial biotechnologyand energy projects. The successful candidate will be placed in a keyengineering role, working within a small, multi-disciplinary team todeliver engineering on projects. The candidate will also have experienceengaging with clients in the proposal and early project development stages,to scope and estimate projects.Scope/Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:Engaging in business development activities, including:Early stage client engagementReview and responding to RFPsKeeping abreast of bioprocessing industry trends and opportunitiesAnalyzes equipment specifications and performance requirements to determineappropriate designs.Prepares and reviews process design deliverables.Vendor coordination for selection of equipment and instrumentation.Reviews and checks the work of other process engineers to determine accuracyand completeness.Coordination of design inputs and design activities with other engineeringdisciplines in a team environment.Ability and desire to lead a team of Process Engineers and Designers, andwork as the Process Lead on medium to large projects.Able to handle multiple projects/tasks at the same time.Competency:Analytical - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects andresearches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designsworkflows and procedures.Design - Generates creative solutions; Translates concepts and informationinto images; Uses feedback to modify designs; Applies design principles;Demonstrates attention to detail.Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner;Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternativesolutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reasoneven when dealing with emotional topics.Technical Skills - Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; Pursues trainingand development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge andskills; Shares expertise with others.Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities.Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work forspelling and grammar; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to readand interpret written information.Verbal Communication - Able to clearly communicate to others at all levelswithin the organization.Adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. Chemical Engineering from an Accredited Program.Minimum of ten (10) years related experience and/or training.Experience in bioprocessing in the fields of biofuels, bioproducts, foodsand protein production.Language Ability:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technicaljournals, financial reports, and legal documents.Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatoryagencies, or members of the business community.Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform toprescribed style and format.Math Ability:Ability to apply advanced m
