KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Director, Global Data Ambassador to join our Global Data team which is part of the KPMG International organization.
Works across Member Firms and Global Functions to identify use cases and promote the Global Data Strategy and its value/use; engages Country Senior Partners and Regions to define local Data Strategies; creates momentum, awareness, adoption and support of the Global Data Strategy
Leads a team of skilled data professionals that enable data to meet the business insights and analytics needs of Member Firms and Global Functions; leads the Global Data Council and drives data literacy, working closely with Member Firms and Global Functions
Serves as the primary entry point to the Global Data team for new data use cases to ensure that a holistic and integrated approach is taken for solutions; works strategically and proactively with business stakeholders, the Global Data team and IT teams to assess, solution and deliver on data use cases
Advances emerging platform features for machine learning, analytics, cloud data warehousing and metadata management; assists in evaluation of tools and vendors for new capabilities
Works collaboratively with other Global Data colleagues to deliver data use cases to meet business objectives
Build, develop and lead a high performing team that delivers business value and optimizes cost and speed to insight
Minimum twelve years of direct leadership experience in a federated data services organization with at least ten years of experience in relevant skills and technologies
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Ability to understand the complexity of a matrixed professional services firm / partnership; proven ability to lead in a matrixed manner; ability to maintain a flexible schedule due to travel, deadlines and/or duties outside of normal business hours due to global nature of the role
Proven track record influencing diverse sets of stakeholders and driving common outcomes
Experience with big data and cloud eco-systems; metadata, master data management and data quality tools; as well as working experience with big data technologies such Azure Data Lake Storage, Data Bricks, Synapse, Azure Data Factory, HDInsight; experience working with various vendors and evaluating vendor solutions against the business needs; experience developing proof of concept (POCs) and driving forward pilots; experience assessing business use cases across the data supply chain and developing requirements and testing strategies
Outstanding verbal/written communication, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills to lead in an environment driven by customer service and teamwork, ability to direct, motivate and empower others to work towards the organization's goals, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across multiple functions; ability to ensure execution of strategic initiatives for the organization; and able to address emerging opportunities and how organization should be organized/staffed to realize them
