The Senior Clinical Ethicist is responsible for assisting the Clinical Ethics Advisor in clinical aspects of the Ethics program focused on ethical issues related to the delivery of care in collaboration with multiple disciplines within the organization. This individual must exercise independent judgment in assessments and recommendations that pertain to ethical issues. Provides educational support for patients/families/significant others, healthcare team members and the community, and coordinates QA/QI studies to measure outcomes of care. Partners to create an integrated Ethics program across the Delivery System.
Education - Master's Degree in in ethics or a related discipline such as law, medicine, nursing, philosophy, theology, social work or related field
Experience - 5 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in applied ethics, preferably in a healthcare setting with documented experience in consultation, teaching, and policy development
Experience - 3 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in supporting an ethics program, ethics committee, or consultation service
