Lippert Components, Inc Toter Driver in Goshen, Indiana
This position is primarily responsible for the movement of finished beams in and out of the cart corrals at production plants. This position will use daily production schedule to coordinate beam change overs and ensure the correct beam is staged inside the plant.
Essential Functions

Observance of all safety rules and policies maintained by the company
Maintenance of BPC beam and racks and the coordination of those carts in/out of the production building.
Ensure all carts are present that are needed for daily production and organized in a sequential manner.
Utilize production schedule and Toter to plan and conduct change overs of beam carts.
Conduct change overs by removing the empty cart from inside the plant and replace with the next cart of beam that is needed.
Transport empty beam cart to the designated “empty cart” return area.
Maintenance of BPC beam staging yard.
Verify Labeling and organization of staged carts are accurate and by sequence
Movement of beam racks to the repair bay area as needed
Operate tugger/tractor to pull beam racks throughout complex
Collection of corresponding beam data for continuous improvement
Conduct quality audits on incoming beam as needed.
Inspection of incoming beams for length, feature sizes and locations and camber.
Rotation of position into chassis production team structure as necessary
Clean and maintain equipment in accordance with shift startup and shutdown procedures including completion of daily crane inspections.

Must be able to accurately record measurement data on paper data sheet and/or tablet.
Must be able to operate appropriate equipment including radios, stabilization devices, tape measures, scanners, etc.
Must be highly organized
Must possess successful problem-solving skills
Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with supervisors, fellow team members, customers, etc.
Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations
Must be able to deal with external climate extremes (temperature, precipitation, etc.). Most of the work performed will be indoors
Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day
Must be able to read and understand daily schedules
Supervisory Responsibility
This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The Team Member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
This position requires Personal Protective Equipment. Protective Equipment supplied by the company includes: Work Gloves, Safety Glasses and Ear Plugs, High Visibility apparel and Hard Hats. Team members may be required to provide additional Protective Equipment (Safety Shoes, etc.).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time hourly position.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer knowledge.
Preferred Education and Experience
Overhead Crane Operators License preferred (training available).
Handheld bar code scanners and label printers.
