DIRECTOR OF NURSING is needed for 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in NE Montana that provides inpatient, outpatient, 24-hour ER, and skilled and non skilled long-term care services. We do not provide surgical or obstetrical services. This is a great opportunity for the Registered Nurse who likes rural nursing and serving in a management role in a rural healthcare facility. Average long-term care census is 21 patients per day, average skilled swing bed census is 1.5, average daily inpatient census is 0.2 patients per day, average number of ER patients is 40 per month. Applicant should have the following attributes: Registered nurse with minimum 2 years clinical management experience.Strong leadership qualities to direct a staff of 7 RNs, 1-2 LPNs, 14 CNAs; staffing is a mix of facility employees and locum/contract employees.Ability to manage and delegate the many quality/performance improvement initiatives required by federal regulation in cooperation/coordination with the QI Coordinator. Oversee and direct antibiotic stewardship requirements. Stay up to date with the Critical Access Hospital State Operations Manual and the survey process. Update policies and procedures as needed.Must be willing to work occasional shift on the floor. Obtain/maintain ACLS, TNCC, PALS certifications.Focused attention to recruitment/retention.Self-motivation and drive to do what is needed to delegate, manage, oversee responsibilities of position.Available to staff by phone after hours and occasionally must come in and assist. Roosevelt Medical Center is located in Culbertson, MT, in northeast Montana. Culbertson is a small town of about 1000 people located in the midst of a beautiful area, surrounded by thousands of acres of rolling hills and golden grain fields; close to the majesty of the Missouri River; and nestled under the vastness of Montana's spectacular blue sky. We have an excellent school system, several churches, and businesses to meet basic necessities, and youth and adult organizations. We are located one mile north of the Missouri River which offers excellent walleye fishing year-round and summer boating and jet skiing fun. This is also an outstanding location for deer and bird hunting. Williston, ND, and Sidney, MT, are a short drive for movies, bowling, and Walmart. Minot, ND, or Billings, MT, are weekend outings for mall shopping and larger entertainment. Downhill skiing is not out the back door, but, again, any of Montana's ski resorts are a great get away for a long weekend. Check us out at and
