As we grow, we are seeking an experienced Civil EngineeringDesigner - Aviation. This position can be based out of our Colorado(Denver), Missouri (Jefferson City / Kansas City) or Utah (St.George / Salt Lake City) offices.The Civil Engineering Designer will complete plan production, perform designcalculations, and assist with a variety of civil engineering projects in theAviation Market. This individual will have a proven ability to work directlywith cross-functional internal stakeholders. Our Civil Engineering Designerperforms engineering computations, conducts evaluations, designanalyses, and design development, as well as prepares reports,recommendations, and opinions for approval by a Professional Engineer. Theywork as a member of a project team in the development of construction plansand acts as a technical advisor to technical staff using primarily CAD todevelop engineering and design documents.Responsibilities:Selects, recommends, performs and directs procedures and preparation ofpreliminary and final designAssist in coordination with other in-house disciplines and sub consultantservicesPrepares plan documents and supporting design calculationsDemonstrates knowledge and application of engineering principles and completesfundamental calculationsAble to delegate CAD assignments and determine methods and proceduresIndependently performs assignments on basic design elementsTrains CAD Technicians and Engineering InternsQuality Assurance/Quality Control of work productAssist in meeting deadlines and budgetsWork with project management team to identify impediments and develop /implement solutions to overcome obstaclesOther duties as assignedRequirements:Competent technical skills required to complete basic engineering tasksProactively pursues design solutions independently and as a member of a teamStrong understanding of FAA standards, codes and policiesStrong organizational, time management, attention to detail and analyticalskillsAbility to estimate man-hours for specific tasksAdvanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D softwareAble to identify and obtain necessary data to complete designWoolpert provides equal employment opportunities to all employees andapplicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of anytype without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, nationalorigin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexualorientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristicprotected by federal, state or local laws.
