ITW Quality Auditor in Gallatin, Tennessee
Inspects products that are at various stages in the production process to insure conformity to internal and external requirements by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Duties will include first article inspections, in-process testing, final and receiving inspections
· The use and knowledge of hand gages used for inspection such as calipers, micrometers, thickness gages and thread gages
· The use of optical comparators, vision measurement systems or CMM experience
· The use of testing equipment for torque, force and rockwell hardness
· The use of SPC charts (X-Bar R Charts, Histograms, Control limits, etc…)
· Basic computer skills will be necessary (Microsoft Excel, Word, Email, etc.)
· Blue print reading and the basic understanding of GD&T
· Be familiar with ISO/TS16949 & ISO 17025 requirements
· Participate in team activities as required (Such as internal audits, corrective actions, 5s, etc…)
· Participate in the training of production employees as needed
· Other duties may be assigned by supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required. ASQ certification preferred.
Recent one to two years related experience (automotive stamping preferably) with using calipers, micrometers, thickness gages, thread gages, optical comparator, vision measurement system, torque testers, force testers and rockwell hardness tester.
Knowledge of ISO/TS16949 & ISO 17025 preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and or small group situations to customers, clients, and or other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as well as use of conversion charts.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. Depending on the area of the manufacturing plant the employee is frequently exposed to Oil Mist, High Temperature Heat, fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
To meet business needs and with as much notice as possible; the candidate must be available to work any shift and overtime as required. Also must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
