Job Summary:

The Information Assurance (IA) Security Specialist performs a variety of IA functions which are broad in nature, and include, but are not limited to, IA planning, implementation, audit/inspection, reporting, and process improvement.


  • Interact with customers, IT staff, and high-level officials to define and achieve required IA objectives

  • Provide support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies

  • Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information

  • Execute policies and guidance provided by senior functional/technical leads

  • Perform vulnerability and risk assessments of various networks

  • Assess security impact to network configuration changes

  • Process account paperwork (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, NSANet, & privileged admin accounts) in support of in- and out-processing personnel

  • Monitor and manage user-level IA training in the Army Training and Certification Tracking System (ATCTS)

  • Monitor user account profiles and training requirements for both general and admin accounts within ATCTS

  • Issue and replace SIPR tokens and Alternate Smart Card Login (ASCL) tokens

  • Produce official reports on IA-compliance


* Minimum Qualifications:*

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Current Active TS/SCI clearance

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certified (Security or higher)

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Outstanding organization skills and attention to detail

  • Outstanding customer service presence

Desired Qualifications:

  • One year of experience managing ATCTS profiles

  • Experience completing/processing DD Form 2875 (System Authorization Account Request)

  • Help Desk experience
