Our position of Desktop Installer/Integrator is based in Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrates desktop workstations and associated equipment throughout the network

  • Configures and installs new hardware and replace existing user systems

  • Ensures proper configuration and performance of installed computer and laptops

  • Loads approved OS images on new systems or existing systems requiring updates or repair

  • Conducts life-cycle site surveys, planning, and design for small projects

  • Conducts internal quality control processes to verify conformance to industry and government standards for all infrastructure items

  • Assists is developing a list of materials, estimating installation timelines, and documenting project status at all intervals

  • Within general guidelines, manages assigned tasks based upon severity, workflow, and time constraints

  • Maintains courteous and friendly rapport; communicates clearly and respectfully with customers

  • Works with other IT Support, Network Engineers, and Server Administrators to resolve related technical issues as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Basic knowledge of desktops, laptops, printers, basic components, and accessories

  • Understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, design, concepts, and theory

  • Ability to kneel, squat, bend over, reach into tight spaces to complete work, and lift 25 pounds

Desired Qualifications:

  • One year of hands-on experience troubleshooting IT Infrastructure or hardware

  • One year of experience with desktop equipment installation or as a desktop technician

  • One year of experience with help-desk support or system administrator

  • Knowledge of fiber & copper infrastructure

  • Knowledge of Network Boot (PXE) environment and imaging of PCs

  • Knowledge of MS Active Directory and adding PCs to an enterprise domain

  • Knowledge of ITSM Suite - BMC Remedy Software

  • Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Service Manager (SCSM)

  • Experience working with military, DoD civilians, or government contractors
