L.L.Bean is currently seeking a CAD Designer to join our Product Creation Team
Position Purpose: Supports the graphic needs of all L.L. Bean divisions. Aligns with Designers (all levels) and counterparts throughout the Company in developing the appropriate graphic design processes, technological standards, and human resource requirements necessary to achieve sustainable and measurable results
Act as a design contact regarding the process of applying original artwork onto selected fabrics. Converts original print, placement, and icon artwork from graphic designers into production-ready data for mills and factories. Utilizes LLB's textile CAD and production software to create digital files that vendors can immediately use for production setup, eliminating errors, poor communication, and high strike-off rejections. Partners with Designers, Supply Chain, mills, and vendors to ensure that handoffs meet requirements of specific production environment. Troubleshoots all issues that inhibit successful production of artwork. Coordinates and maintains departmental documentation, tracking and vendor inventories.
Responsibilities
Research and report on emerging print and textile trend direction
Remain aware of industry best practice
Create & execute production ready print/pattern CADs for all categories, and production ready CADs for graphics
Responsible for the successful translation of product design concepts into production ready handoffs to LLB suppliers, vendors, and key internal partners
With direction, works with external Design vendors to identify ready-made print/pattern designs to support Design concept for each season
Attend meetings with cross functional team
Provides support/direction to Assistant/Associate team members in development and application of CAD techniques
Creates the directional print/pattern CADs for Line Kickoff
Updates CADS due to changes for Line Adopt
Creates/Maintains CAD Request briefs and Production briefs, Filing structure
Assists in development of department standards
May delegate, mentor, lead, and supervisor others
Attend seasonal print shows, and print supplier archives
Attend and oversee print vendors and set up seasonal meetings
Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications
BA/BA required. Textiles, fashion, or art preferred
3-5 years of relevant experience required
